InstaCalc works without a network connection.

InstaCalc is a Progressive Web App. After your first visit, it runs from your browser’s cache.

Works offline

  • Editing and running calcs
  • Switching between any view — Calc, Text, Present, Graph, Bento, Doc
  • Saving to My Calcs
  • Loading any calc you’ve opened before

Needs the network

  • Opening a calc you haven’t seen before
  • Remote sources (GitHub .ic files, currency rates, stock prices)
  • Voting on the roadmap
  • Signing in

Install as an app

Chrome and Edge show an install button in the address bar. On macOS Safari, use File → Add to Dock.

iOS: Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen.

When things get weird

Cached versions sometimes go stale after an update. A hard reload (⌘R / Ctrl+R) clears it.
