I saw this web site article www.thesimpledollar.com/2006/12/27/calculating-phil-towns-sticker-price-an-example/ that referred to your Instacalc web page. Two things: why can’t I see all of the screen when a calculatin is selected (and my screen is on full view) i.e., the red numbers are partially hidden? Also, can you provide a on Instacalc on how to calculate a stock’s “sticker price”? The instructions how to do this is shown on the web site I procvided above. I guess I am just two lazy to learn how to do it on Instacalc plus I am extremely busy with a full time demanding job and two kids. Benefit for You? If you provide this calculaition and get the word out I bet you will get thousands of hits on Instacalc from all those stock investors out there. Could you please provide this calculation as desctribed on the web site above? A reply is appreciated.

[…] 10th, 2007 · No Comments Last night was another meeting of the Seattle Tech Startups meetup. I love these things,it’s a great chance to see some demos and meet some cool tech entrepeneurs in the process. All the demos were sweet, but my favorite was by Y-Combinator wunderkid Kalid Azad, founder of InstaCalc. Seriously, check this thing out - looks basic at first but check out the demos to see the types of awesome things that you can do. […]

Are you going to Open Source or CC this web ap or are you going to ‘bait and capture’ like macromedia did with flash/shockwave.
November 13th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
Hi, no plans to open source it yet — but it will always remain a free online tool.

What technology did you use to develop InstaCalc? I’m from the Microsoft technology background (for more than a decade now) but was leaning towards Rails lately for new projects.
Bought the book AWDWR but was not feeling comfortable enough with the deployment options and having a feel that what if some really challenging things show up that I waste time to figure out with Rails (since its new to me) instead of producing and making it better.
So I was leaning more towards CodeIgniter (PHP) but surely feeling guilty of not using Rails. What would be your recommendation?
